The Fisheries Resource Protection Group 8 strikes again as it apprehends another fishing vessel using an active gear within the municipal waters of Tolosa, Leyte on or around 10:28 a.m. of September 9, 2020.

The said municipal scale fishing vessel allegedly owned by a resident of Tanauan, Leyte was caught using a ring net while conducting an actual fishing operation four (4) kilometers from the shoreline of Brgy. Olot, Tolosa, Leyte.

The said vessel was apprehended for alleged violation of Sections 86 (Unauthorized Fishing), 95 (Use of Active Gear in Municipal Waters, Bays and Other Fishery Management Areas) and 121 (Use of Unlicensed Gear) of RA 8550 as amended by RA 10654.

Further, the apprehending team is now preparing the necessary documents for filing of appropriate charges.
